The Cluster for Nanotechnologies was created in the Veneto Region in 2002, exploiting the technical and scientific skills available in the local Academia and production network. Its successful implementation in this region was enhanced by the numerous real application opportunities and the nation’s highest number of per capita businesses, which translates into a high concentration of industries potentially interested in applying nanotechnology.

The Cluster acts as go-between with the institutions and is the local point of reference for companies and research institutions interested in creating advanced technology products. Its main focus is materials, nano-biotechnologies and the the production of nano-devices. One of Veneto Nanotech’s main objectives is technology transfer.

At the VEGA premises is working NanoFab (Nanofabrication Facility) founded in 2005 to promote and encourage links between the research and the business worlds, offering nanotechnology as a tool to improve product quality and performance, to enhance competitiveness and market sustainability.
